I've no idea if you're familiar with the name Jamie Delano. He's a comics writer responsible for some excellent post-Alan Moore Captain Britain work and much better known for Hellblazer and other Vertigo titles.

He's written an interesting article for the Ninth Art about writer's block, politics, responsibility and modern philosophy and p[politics. I hold very different political views from Delano, and find some of his comments almost objectionable. However, it raises some interesting points and I'd be fascinated to hear what other people think.

It beats articles about laptops scorching genitalia, anyway.

I thought It was a rather interesting article, although yes, the writer did make some false divisions with regards to religion, science etc. However, I feel that he has almost grasped on some ideas I have recently adopted myself: the idea that the writer has a moral debt to the audience to (a) tell the 'truth'as he or she sees it (bearing in mind even a fictional text can contain many philisophical truths).
And (b)that the world is on the brink of a monumental precipice, one that can only be avoided by spreading the virtues of freedom, tolerance to those who deserve it and perhaps all, rationality.
