Why we need more Thames crossings east of London Bridge

Y'know, closing the QEII bridge is quite bad enough on its own, but closing it and the Blackwall Tunnel together is just evil - and responsible for doubling the normal journey time home from Suffolk.

For the non-Londoners reading this roughly translates to:

"The road system in the eastern half of London sucks goats and has ruined my day".

Living as I do in an area where inconvenient bodies of water, hills, plateaus, mountains and other inconveniently soaring landscape features, as well as bureaucratic incompetence on a massive scale, have created one of the most annoying traffic systems known to humankind...(or at least known to me...I suppose it's quite possible that London sucks much worse...)

I empathize. Deeply. Damn those goats.
