addersljLondon was quiet this morning. The pheromones of fear and distrust subdued the commuters, most of whom had eschewed their traditional office dress for something more casual, the better to avoid becoming a target.
Workmen were boarding up McDonald's in Leicester Square and, rather oddly, Jigsaw opposite Charing Cross. The whole of the courtyard outside Charing Cross Station had been sealed off by the police.
It's May Day in London.
The day's been quiet so far, with a few sirens in the distance. Lunchtime is coming, though, and the BBC reports that the protestors are on the move. There's been a single arrest. Will more follow?
