Slightly later than everyone else:

Demon: the Fallen 21,000 words. I wrote Chapter 3 of the rulebook and intro fiction for the chapter. I'm very pleased with this, and still think it's one of the strongest things I've written. Anila/Magdiel has been very popular with gamers, too, which pleases me no end.

London By Night 31,500 words. This was a project I was passionate about for obvious reasons. Parts of it were a struggle because I'm not a natural Vampire writer, but the London specific stuff was a blast to do.

Dark Ages: Inquisitor 15,000 words. Catholic Mediaeval Hunter. How can you not love it? Working with a new, inexperienced developer proved to be better than I expected, and we had the chance to change some aspects of the game through playtesting, too. Ideas like Conviction banking and the prayer rules make me think that I'm not as bad at doing mechanics as I've always assumed.

Lucifer's Shadow 10,000 words. A short story featuring Magdiel/Anila. I've received a lot of unsolicited e-mails praising this story. This makes me happy.

Player's Guide to the Garou 7,000 words. Pack tactics and klaive duelling. A quick bit of work, but good fun.

Undisclosed Hunter Book 20,000 words. Ken described this as "the best work you've ever done for the line". This too makes me happy.

Tribebook Silver Fangs 20,000 words. I did all the crunchy bits at the end of the book. I had the chance to riff on some great Russian myths, and Ethan seemed to like it. Again, I found the mechanics writing more enjoyable than I expected.

Victorian Age Companion 1,000 words. A quick page or so of copy to help Bruce out when the book came in short. I did this in an evening: a couple of hours of research and a couple of hours of writing.

Damned & Deceived: the Book of Thralls 22,000 words. More demonic fun. This book reminded me why working for Mike Lee is such fun. He didn't send me redlines, he just caught up with me online and talked through the changes he wanted. A lot of RPG developers tend to micro-manage their writers' copy. Mike sees the big picture, and I think that Demon, as a line, will be all the better for it.

That's a grand total of 147,500 words.

Of course, I've also written, commissioned and edited around 200,000 words for the day job magazine. 2002 was, officially, a busy year.

You might think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
