Being nosey on a train
Aug. 15th, 2002 09:49 amI'm on a train again, heading for a quick meeting in Birmingham. Now, I'm all for mobile technology, after all I'm posting this using an iBook, Bluetooth adaptor and mobile phone. That's pretty damn geeky right there.
However, the woman sat opposite me is busy texting using two mobile phones simultaneously. Yet, she's busy writing in an old, spiral-bound A4 pad. This goes to show that, in the UK at least, mobiles really are the tech of choice for the non-tech people out there. Odd that the US has adopted them more slowly and with less enthusiasm than we have. I'm sure there must be a reason for it: after all, the US is usually ahead on most things technological.

Largely, possibly worse, when we do write, we write like we speak. As such, if you've already got a cellphone in hand, bloody call the fucker or leave him vmail. :)
