OK - who reading this is up to date with the new Doctor Who (ie has seen Army of Ghosts (season II, epidsode 12) through fair means or foul) and would also be interested in discussing the show?

I've seen it... and I even know who is going to be playing the next companion. But I'm not actually terribly interested in the show. Is that a crime?

I'm fairly up to date. I'm very sad about what they did. While I sorta like the over-narrative they gave Rose, the cliffhanger seems like a bad pacing job. They should have waited another season or played with the bad wolf plot point- I dunno.

My prediction is that Rose is killed, the genesis creche brings her back to life, and she then stays with Micky to have that real life her mum talks about.

An interesting thing I noticed when I was watching with the commentary. RTD explained that since this 2-parter was written and filmed at the same time as the other Cybermen 2-parter, he was able to write a few supportive plot points into other episodes of the season.

In particular, he noted the "Bad Wolf virus" from "Love and Monsters" was put there specifically by Goddess Rose because She foresaw the necessity of the Doctor passing off Jackie as her in order to get her in position for the day to be saved.

The implication here is that Goddess Rose may have pulled more strings than we previously realized, and we may not quite have seen all of them yet.
