I think it proves that it's really confident programme-making. Less monsters, more characters, just what this season needed. It's all about light and shade.
Having spent a few minutes wandering around various fandom forae and blogs - it was the bestest episode ever, or utterly awful and horrible, and either a touching and sweet look at fandom, or a bastardly backstab in the face of the fans (I'm not quite sure how you backstab in the face, but some people do feel like that).
Yup, I enjoyed it. Could have done without the "You have seen me, and so I must kill you, by running down the middle of a street after you." scene, but apart from that it was great fun.
And the "forming an ELO covers band" bit was just perfect.
I would have liked more of the Doctor, but it was okay. At least we've got another two... I think I would have preferred this one a touch earlier in the season, I think. Maybe #9 rather than #11?
