Finally, my new blog, the relaunched One Man & His Blog is up and going.

You can find a post explaining what I'm doing over there and why here.

(Cribbed from [livejournal.com profile] ladyjestyr and [livejournal.com profile] eynowd.)

1. I have a good degree in English Literature from Queen Mary's, London
2. I did this despite spending most of my time editing a student mag
3. I still think non-authorial criticism, Barthes and Death of the Author are a load of over indulgent twaddle
4. I used to fence epee internationally for the Scottish youth team.
5. I am a former public school boy (that's private school boy for non-Brits reading)
6. I am no longer in contact with anyone I've ever dated, bar my wife.
7. The most vivid memory I have is the moment I met Lorna.
8. The second most vivid memory I have is the moment my father died.
9. I have only been threatened with a libel writ once in my life - and that was before I started working professionally.
10. It took a decade to go from editing my last student magazine to editing my first professional magazine.
11. I cannot stand the taste of pineapple
12. At any one time I am reading at least five books and at least as many magazines
13. I can dance Argentine Tango
14. I was scared of computers for years after seeing Tron.
15. I am never as happy in a city as I am in a small town or the countryside.
16. I was a member of my school's RAF cadets and have flown a Chipmonk, a tiny two-seater aircraft
17. My job has (so far) taken me to New York, Paris, Budapest, Barcelona, Cannes and all parts of the British Isles
18. Throughout childhood I thought I wanted to be a doctor. Then I realised that it wasn't me that wanted that, it was my parents.
19. I was 9 when I "published" my first newspaper courtesy of my Dad's photocopier at work.
20. I'm named after a character in BBC Radio 4's long-running farming soap The Archers. This character has recently reappeared in the show and is now its first major gay character.

I've just received an e-mail from my mother about my previous entry:

Number 18 of your journal - not strictly true - it was your idea when you were very young which somehow or other managed to stick - you were always wanting to play at being a doctor although the nurses did not figure in it!

The record is now officially put straight. Thanks, Mum.
