Hole in the hall
Jun. 25th, 2005 07:32 pmWhile bonding away this afternoon, I leant against the hall wall. Suddenly, a small section caved in under me.
Uh-oh.
I started to investigate the new hole, and some of the plaster fell away. It kept coming off. Great chunks cascaded to the ground in clouds of dust.
So, a little more work for the plasterer next week than he expected…

Date: 2005-06-26 10:40 pm (UTC)...On the other hand, the thing that instantly leaps into MY American mind is one of those Fab Five or Trading Spaces or This Old House folks wafting into the room on a juniper-scented breeze and going:
"My GOD! Can you believe this beautiful Original Victorian Brickwork has been covered up in all this hideous plaster all this time! No, no, we must divest it of all the gunk and paint it a lovely pale yellow to bring out the texture, and I envision the husband's crystal figurine collection hanging in an enormous converted antique birdcage in this corner, and then we'll bring in the architectural fragments, you'll see the effect once it's all painted..."
