I know some people here tend to think that, just because I'm a fan of Apple and its products, I loathe Microsoft.

Not true.

I'm busy installing Office: Mac 2004 on my iBook as I type this, and very lovely it looks, too.

Office 2004 - try the translation tool within Word (with an internet connection). Hours of fun :)

You mean that you don't go around the computer stores carrying a pitchfork and torch? Dammit! I must have seen someone else then. :)

Seriously though, thanks for answering my .mac mail yesterday. I considered what it would provide and then I noticed that I get 300SEK off since I just bought my Mac. .Mac here I come! :)

Maybe it's because you use a Mac that you don't loathe Microsoft. I've been a PC user for most of my working life, and I want Bill Gates's head on a pike.

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] mthielbar. I think it takes time for a truly fine Microsoft Loathing to mature. You need the seasoning from the Blue Screens of Death, that verra-be-damned Paperclip, the constant nannying, and everything else which goes into making Windows such an unpleasant experience. The Office Suite is actually pretty good. (NB: Except for PowerPoint, which is Destroying The World(TM), and Outlook, which ought to come with its own virus installation base.) It's the rest of it that's making me drool over the thought of a SuSE installation...
