The LJ polls are a badly underused feature ([livejournal.com profile] andrewducker is an honourable exception here.) So, to get a clearer idea of what sort of people are reading this nonsense, stimulate some discussion and have a bit of fun, I'll be using the nifty poll-building function of [livejournal.com profile] fraserspeirs's [livejournal.com profile] xjournal to post a news-related poll as often as I can.

First up, a legislator in Louisiana is attempting to ban those hipster trousers and visible g-strings that have become a common sight on the streets in recent years.

I wish someone would try and ban men wearing sandals and white sports socks....

I know there are girls out there who specifically buy low trousers to show off their thongs, but I find it a pain in the bum (no pun intended). The fashion at the moment is for silly low cut trousers which you can't *help* but show off your pants, no matter what you do. I really think this should be aimed at clothing maunfacturers and fashion designers instead! /rant

I'd class choice of clothes under freedom of expression. And I generally believe that society is better off with freedom of expression and a few shocked people than with people being told what they are allowed to look like.
