It took less than 10 replies to my last post, including my own, before somebody accused me of having a dig at "their" side.

I don't know whether to be amused, or break down in despair.

I'm tending towards the latter right now.

I feel the same way. The sense of despair and sadness at the recent events is profound, but even moreso when I see how we're responding. I can't help but feel the three men with a sword accomplished more -- in terms of striking at the core of the culture, polarizing, and prodding us into foolish, counterproductive, hateful mistakes -- than a thousand car bombs could've.
