Somewhat predictably, I fear, I am firmly in favour of this. The large american record industry lobby groups are using IP laws and aggressive litigation as a stick to beat artists with. Projects of this sort help to highlight that, as well as generating the sort of underground celebrities that the record companies hate. IP laws are designed to protect the livelihoods of their creators, not to stifle non-corporate innovation. I find the idea that the Grey Album hurts sales of the Black Album or the White Album to be utterly laughable, therefore do not see that IP laws apply.
