Ripping while Writing
Feb. 20th, 2004 12:28 amWow, ripping while writing can be an emotional experience. I've been going through my CD collection in a fairly haphazard way, ripping CDs I've never ripped before or reripping them to AAC, which gives noticeably better sound quality than MP3.
I hit REM's Automatic for the People and Pater Gabriel's So within an hour of each other. Both remind me of the late 80s and early 90s, the most difficult emotional period of my life, as I went through that painful process of growing up, letting go of the past and moving on.
15 years ago, yet the music still conjures up the way I felt back then. Powerful stuff, this music.

So is a great album though, probably my favourite of all PG's work to day. I think it's held up well over the years, and In Your Eyes remains high on my list of favourite songs of all time.
