The Time of Judgement approaches, and that means the end of the two WoD games I've done the most writing for: Demon and, especially, Hunter.

Sure, I'm working on Werewolf: the Forsaken and other stuff for WoD 2.0, but I'm gonna miss Hunter especially. For those who care, I always thought one quote summed up that game for me. One of my players came out with it in an early session of it. He claimed it was from Zulu, but I haven't watched the film recently to see if he was right, of if it's a complete misquote. No matter. It was always in my mind when writing for the game, because it captures everything that was great about it, especially when you think about it in the context of the movie:

"Why us, sarge?"

"Because we're 'ere, lad. And because there's no-one else."

I'll miss Hunter too, although more for what it could have been than what it was.

Okay. Quick question - how do you get the nifty wee iTunes button and song description to pop up at the bottom of your posts?

Inquiring minds, and all that.

I've often contemplated something like that as the perfect summation of Call of Cthulhu as a heroic genre.

There's a quote I can't remember precisely, something along the lines of 'The world will not be so within the reach of my arms,' which also strikes a similar chord.

Look at the bright side. Maybe there will be a new Hunter. Maybe you'll get to work on it. (:

Yeah, I'm going to miss Hunter too. I had a lot of fun working on it -- particularly Apocrypha, which was a total blast. .

As one of your players, I already miss Hunter.

Still, there's the beauty of rpgs, we don't necessarily have to continue to miss it. Just cos you no longer are going to write it doesn't mean we no longer get to play it. Run us another session sometime, eh? Name a weekend (at least a month ahead) and I'll travel wherever to play. Whaddya think?
