Observations on returning to work
Oct. 22nd, 2003 03:22 pm1. Sometimes, taking less than a week off on a weekly magazine just isn't worth it. It essence, I've been left with two days to do five days' work. People seem happy to take up the slack when you're away for a whole week, but anything less than that and they just leave it piling up for your return.
2. I hadn't realised quite how good Apple's spam filtering is in the Mail package that comes with OSX. I've been using my Mac for five days without noticing a single piece of spam. I just logged into my e-mail account via webmail and found it clogged up with the stuff. Ah well, one more incentive not to read my home e-mail at work.
