(no subject)

I appear to be back at work. Argh. How did that happen? Certainly the trains were deeply unprepared for the mass return to work today, hence there were huge queues for tickets and many delayed services.

I happier news, my author's copies of Dark Ages: British Isles and Shadow Games were delivered to me today. In an unprecedented move, they both came in the same box. Normally when I have two books out in the same week they arrive in separate boxes, costing WW extra FedEx fees and giving me more trash to deal with. It's good to see common sense prevail. Your doing, innocent_man? Reactions on these two fine books when I've had time to go through them both.

Oh, and shortly I get a new computer to replace this aging 500Mhz sloth.

Speed Demon

Well, my new Pentium 4 PC is sitting on my desk at work, and what a speedy (but ugly) beast it is. Leaving aside my aesthetic revulsion at the black and silver case (c'mon guys, Jonathan Ive can't be the only decent computer designer in the world), the faster PC has significantly improved my workrate.

Remember, folks, not upgrading the PCs is false economy. :-)
