Returning to Discworld
Jun. 24th, 2003 02:17 pmMany years ago, I bough the first Discworld game for the Mac. It ran like a slug on my LCII, so I put it aside until I got my next computer, a Performa 6400. It turns out that the game didn't run at all on PowerMacs. I contacted the publisher's support about this, and they suggested that I contact Apple. Sadly, I filed the game away and forgot about it.
Recently, I was setting up that self-same Performa for my mother-in-law to use, and I remembered about the game. I did a quick internet search, and it turns out that the publishers finally got around to admitting that it was their problem and producing a patch.
I downloaded the patch and now the game is running happily in Classic on my current iMac. Over half a decade on, I finally get to play the game. Pity I've got a coming deadline for
innocent_man. Maybe next week I'll get to play.
