A Day of Much Randomness
Me again.

So, what's on my mind? Well, someone chopped Mrs Thatcher's head off. Ok, technically she's Baroness Thatcher and it was a statue not the real thing, but I find the story quite fascinating. Why? Well, because not a single one of our current politicians generates that sort of passion in people. Sure, you might have passionately disagreed with many of her policies, and I did, but you have to respect the fact that she had a vision and a desire to change society. Blair? He just wants to stay in power.

Thatcher might actually be a peculiar flashpoint in British politics, but loony European left-wingers going after politicians they dislike isn't exactly news in Europe. I was stunned to find out that the Red Army Brigade is still active and killing people this year - they might have at least updated their name. And an animal-rights activist killed Pim Fortuyn - who didn't even have a stated position on the issue.
It might well be simply because she's not in or running for office that this guy didn't take a cudgel to Thatcher's real head. I don't think we can assume stunts like this are just signs of nonviolent protest, anymore. You obviously can't deem this guy a terrorist or would-be murderer, but you can't view him as a harmless kook, either.
