Roof with a view

Renovating a Victorian-era property is fun, fun, fun.

Just as well that we're still in the heart of the summer, isn't it? A hearty downpour or a thick layer of snow would really mess up our week…

I noticed you're using a Fujifilm FinePix S5000...do you like it?

Actually, I'm not. That picture was taken by the guy who runs the roofing company...

My three digital cameras in use are a Canon EOS 300D (known as a Digital Rebel in the US, I believe), a Fuji Finepix F420 and a Minolta DiMage G400. All of which I'm happy with, for different reasons.

Going to pry more,
What are you happy with with each of them? I'm looking to get a digital SLR, was wondering what your thoughts are.

The Fuji: because it's a robust little "snappy" camera that I can carry anywhere.

The Minolta: Nice lens for a compact, good range of controls and shooting modes. Very little shutter lag! (The lag on The Fuji is pretty bad).

The Canon: I'm used to using Cannon film SLRs, so switching to a digital SLR was pretty painless, and the results have been excellent.

I would offer sympathy, but since the very possibility of owning Victorian era property in our young, young country is impossible, I can only express jealousy.

They say my house is "old", and it dates post WWII. If I lived farther west, 1950's is considered "vintage"! Perspective, man!
